Full-time employees of Grand Traverse Ophthalmology
Clinic receive medical and dental coverage, as well as free
eye exams and two free pairs of glasses per year (discount on
additional pairs). Extended family members also receive free
exams and eyewear discounts. GTOC’s 401(k) plan allows
a contribution of up to 15 percent of employees’ annual
salary and offers matching employer contributions up to 2 percent
of their base salary. Each year, GTOC may contribute an additional
amount based on company performance. Employees may elect to
enroll in a medical reimbursement plan, in which up to $7500
can be deducted annually from their gross wages before taxes.
A reimbursement plan for dependent care is also available, with
up to $5000 in annual deductions. Tuition reimbursement of 50
percent is granted to employees with a passing grade.
Our flexible paid time off (PTO) program is intended to allow
for vacations, personal days, and medical leave. Paid holidays
include New Year’s Eve (p.m.), New Year’s Day, Good
Friday (p.m.), Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving
Day, Christmas Eve (p.m.), and Christmas Day.

Grand Traverse Ophthalmology is pleased to offer a 401(k) plan.
You can contribute up to 15% of your annual salary to the plan.
GTOC will make a matching contribution up to 2% of your base
salary. Each year GTOC may contribute an additional amount based
on company performance.
You will be vested in the GTOC contributions according to the
following schedule:
1 year 20%
2 years 40%
3 years 60%
4 years 80%
5 years 100%
Open enrollment occurs four times a year - February, May, August
and November.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Medical Reimbursement - You may elect to have an amount deducted
from your gross paycheck, before taxes are taken out, that is
applied to your Medical Reimbursement Account up to $7,500 annually.
Dependent Care Reimbursement - You may elect to have an amount
deducted from your gross paycheck, before taxes are taken out,
that is applied to your Dependent Care Account to pay for child
care expenses up to $5,000 annually.
Educational Assistance
GTOC offers 50% tuition reimbursement for employees with a passing
grade.
Paid Time Off
PTO is a flexible paid time off program intended to provide
time off for vacations, personal and sick days.
90 days
The PTO accrual rate is 1.85 hours per pay period through your
first year and can be utilized after 90 days of employment.
1 year
One week plus 8 days accrued at 2.46 hours per pay period.
2 years
Two weeks plus 8 days accrued at 2.46 hours per pay period.
7 years
Three weeks plus 8 days accrued at 2.46 hours per pay period.
15+ years
Four weeks plus 8 days accrued at 2.46 hours per pay period.

Optical Benefit
GTOC offers all employees examinations at no cost plus two free
